First Class of The Term

Date: 2/5/11

My first art class of the term went exceptionally well. Mrs Davis (our art teacher) discussed with the class our scheme of work for the term. I have to replenish and add to my large amount of art supplies, as we require pastel paper and some new sketching pencils for still life drawing. We are doing stippling, or pointillism this term, which seems to be enjoyable. I am excited to start this interesting art style.

We also took notes on collages. We learnt that they are essentially composed of 2D materials adhered to a base, creating an image. Mrs Davis told us the steps we need to take in creating a collage and which supplies we require in doing one. Our art teacher also gave us an assignment to make one. I plan to make mine based on the brilliant landscapes of my neighbourhood, including a tributary of the St. Joseph River. This project comes to me as an exciting learning experience. I have high hopes for this term.
This is an example of stippling in art.
